Certificate I in Construction

About this course:

With the Certificate I in Construction Jim’s Training offers this introductory construction course to Jim’s Group franchisees and external domestic learners who seek the essential basic knowledge required to work as a labourer or who wish to facilitate their future entry to an Australian apprenticeship.


Participants will receive an introduction to the construction industry to understand job roles and occupation types; industry culture, structure, and organization; safety requirements; workplace planning; communication skills; and workplace expectations.

What to expect:

This course will enable you to: 

• Learn new skills including time management and communication skills 

• Develop a positive work ethic 

• Carry out basic measurements and calculations 

• Sketch simple work plans 

• Prepare/use industry tools and materials and much more 

This course requires the successful completion of eleven (11) units of competency, including eight (8) core units and three (3) elective units.

 

Course Availability:

Students must be over 16 years of age and undertake a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) test which will be provided to you before commencement. Students will need to undertake practical assessments that may require a simulated work environment.

CPC10120 Certificate I in Construction

This Nationally Accredited base-level vocational course is suited to individuals wishing to enter the building and construction industry for the first time. It provides a robust pathway for continued study and enhanced career growth and opportunities. Successful completion of this nationally recognised Certificate I level qualification provides the participant with a White Card (General Construction Induction Card). This course provides a pathway for further external study for Certificate II in Construction, Certificate III in Carpentry, Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building) and Diploma of Building & Construction (Building).
